The History of Towalaga, Georgia

Towalaga is a quiet, rural neighborhood located just a few minutes outside of Griffin. Its centerpieces include Cole Reservoir and the many lakes scattered around the area. Del Webb broke ground on this active living community in 2007 and will eventually build about 3,300 homes here.

Towalaga got its name from the Towaliga River, which itself was derived from the Native American language used by the Creek Tribe. Some translators say that “towaliga” refers to the sumac trees found in the area, while others claim the word identifies the place where warriors displayed the scalps they collected in battle.

How To Get To The King Firm From Towalaga

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Our Personal Injury Law Firm’s Primary Practice Areas

The King Firm represents people injured in all types of accidents resulting from the actions of others. Some of the firm’s primary practice areas include:

Car Accidents

Car accidents in Towalaga often happen when people speed along rural roads or otherwise fail to yield to other motorists on the streets of the neighborhood and its retirement community.

These accidents can undoubtedly cause serious injuries that can render you unable to care for yourself, but the King Firm will investigate your accident thoroughly to gather the evidence needed to support your claim.

Bicycle Accidents

Towalaga’s lakes and parks provide the perfect environment for bike rides, but careless drivers can injure or even kill bicyclists. Contact The King Firm to learn about your right to fair compensation should you be injured in a bicycle accident due to driver negligence.

Motorcycle Accidents

With its warm weather and rural backdrop, Towalaga is the perfect location for an escape via motorcycle ride. But should someone collide with you, your motorcycle will provide very little protection against injuries. The King Firm fights against careless drivers and their insurers for fair compensation after a motorcycle accident.

Slip and Fall

Georgia residents and business owners must keep guests safe while on their premises, but trip or slip and fall accidents can result when they negligently fail to find and fix slipping hazards. The King Firm helps accident victims get fair compensation when they become injured on someone else’s property.

Truck Accidents

Three of Spalding County’s major truck routes — Teamon Road, McIntosh Road, and McDonough Road/GA-155 — pass through Towalaga. When a truck hits your passenger vehicle, you can suffer serious, even incapacitating injuries. The King Firm stands up to trucking companies that negligently cause truck accidents.

Wrongful Death

The survivors of a deceased accident victim can bring forward a wrongful death claim in Georgia, which helps you recover the financial support lost when your loved one was wrongfully killed. It also demands justice from those who both directly and indirectly caused your loved one’s death. Contact The King Firm as soon as possible to learn how a wrongful death claim can help you and your Towalaga family.

Damages Available in Towalaga Personal Injury Cases

Georgia law allows injured people to pursue compensation for two types of damages: economic and non-economic damages.

Economic damages represent all of your financial costs and losses from your accident, including:

  • Past and future medical costs
  • Lost wages
  • Diminished future earnings

Non-economic damages, on the other hand, include aspects of your reduced quality of life, often due to the following:

  • Pain
  • Suffering
  • Dismemberment
  • Disfigurement
  • Disability

Georgia initially set caps on non-economic damages for medical malpractice claims, but the Georgia Supreme Court struck them down as unconstitutional in 2010.

What Does It Cost To Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer in Spalding County?

Personal injury attorneys in Spalding County, of which Towalaga is part, usually charge contingency fees, which are paid through your compensation after they win or settle your case. As a result, you can use your resources to pay for medical treatment and living costs without having to directly pay upfront fees to a lawyer.

Contact The King Firm to discuss your case and assess the legal fees involved to help you recover injury compensation.

Statute of Limitations in Georgia Personal Injury Cases

Georgia has a very short time limit for opening personal injury cases. You must file a lawsuit for personal injuries within two years of your accident. If you fail to file before the deadline and do not meet an exception for the late filing, a court will dismiss your case. Given that these deadlines will result in losing your rights, you should speak to The King Firm well before then.
